Cold Bread Pudding

1 c. bread crumbs
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sour milk
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 tsp. flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. molasses
Pinch salt

Soak crumbs in milk 1/2 hour. Cream shortening, sugar and molasses. Sift flour with salt, soda, baking powder and spices. Then add raisins and nuts. Add to the crumb mixture that has been mixed with shortening and molasses Mix all well and bake in a greased baking dish for 45 minutes in 400 degree oven. Delicious served with thick cream or lemon sauce.
